Now with that, you'll say like "Oh it's a simple fix then! Just check their ping" and what I can tell you is NO. The main issue with running at the packet level (For one packet specifically), lag is a HUGE factor in determining whether a player is truly hacking or not. Though running at the packet level also comes with its flaws that can easily be fixed. It's a fact that you CANNOT detect many hacks utilizing bukkit events, if you want to swiftly and accurately detect hacks, you need to run at the packet level meaning are directly reading the "Raw" packets that the client and server are communicating with each other which can be utilized to help determine whether a player is hacking or not (I will provide some examples below as to how the packet level can be utilized to detect KillAuras and other hacks immediately). Now what Mineplex needs is an AntiCheat running at the packet level, not at the bukkit event level. I know people who've been studying it for almost five years now. Though one year is actually very little for studying the client. What Mineplex need is an actual developer where they know Minecraft from the back of their heads, and while some may believe that's not possible, it is? I have been studying the Minecraft client for about a year now, and I already have about ~20 different methods to detect KillAura alone, some within 1 hit accurately. Lacking knowledge of that is a huge downside as knowing the internals of Minecraft is THE BEST way to detect hacked clients as you can utilize its flaws to identify them swiftly. Another reason why Konsolas isn't the best option is that he's not aware of the "Minecraft Hacked Client Community," or in other words, he's not active with client developers, nor is he aware of how Minecraft works within. It is also one of the least updated AntiCheats out there, so there are constant bypasses. It's one of the most inaccurate AntiCheat detection-wise. Konsolas, while yes, does have a name in the Spigot community for being one of the most reputable AntiCheat developers thanks to his anti-cheat by the name of "AAC (Advanced AntiCheat) and while yes, it is a decent option for server owners, AAC is not something that should be taken so high. I'll disprove why Konsolas IS NOT the best option for Mineplex. The thing you may be saying is "We need Konsolas back!", Or similar. NOTE: In this thread, I will mainly prioritize combat hacks. Though from what I've been seeing alongside what others have been seeing, Mineplex hasn't been putting as much work into GWEN, and it's starting to show even more where in almost every other game you'll now experience some form of hacker whether it'd be a combat hacker, movement hacker, or even both! Everything can improve in some way or another. Recently since early 2017, I have acquired some interest in a specific area on Minecraft, more-so the AntiCheat side of Minecraft and since early 2017 I've been working around the clock developing AntiCheats, discovering new methods to detect forms of hacks, etc.Īnyways, now that's out of the way, let me begin with the actual thread:įor quite a few years Mineplex has been known not to have the best AntiCheat, and that's completely okay! Nothing is perfect, nor will anything be perfect. I have been working with Java programming for about five years now, and I can say I have gained quite the knowledge over the years. Hi, I am John, since the age of 13 I've been fascinated by the world of programming, especially in the Java language. Before we begin this thread, let me go ahead and introduce myself:
